About the artist:
Renowned fashion designer, businessman and entrepreneur, Peter Morrissey has been at the forefront of the Australian Fashion Industry for over 30 years.
Peter has successfully carved a career fashioning both high-end apparel and mainstream looks including apparel, shoes and accessories for men, women, teens, kids and baby, as well as a homewares and a Manchester range which brings to fruition Peter’s philosophy “I want to fashion people’s lives, not just their wardrobes”. Now he’s taking his talents and personally painting portraits of your pets.
A little more about Peter… In 2012 Peter joined season 4 of Project Runway Australia as one of the new judges alongside fellow judge Claudia Navone, mentor Alex Perry and Host Megan Gale.The show aired from October to November 2012 on Foxtel’s Arena channel and was nominated for a 2013 ASTRA Award in the Most Outstanding Reality Program category. Cementing his dominance in the cut-throat world of fashion his chic, beautifully cut, sophisticated designs secured him as a major fashion player on the world stage. His clothing has been worn by A-list stars including Nicole Kidman, Elle MacPherson,Helena Christensen, Jerry Hall, Dame Edna, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Megan Gale, Kylie Minogue, Jon Bon Jovi, Chris Isaac, Geoffrey Rush, Michael Hutchence & INXS.
Peter Morrissey has used his extensive design experience working with corporations to redesign their Uniforms and Company Branding. Peter Morrissey dresses 227,000 Australians a day, both domestically and internationally, through his collaboration and engagement with companies including Woolworths, Qantas, IAG, OPSM and Novotel Hotels.
Peter has received a multitude of awards throughout his career including GQ Man of the Year – Designer 2002, FHM Designer of the Year 2003, 2004 and 2005 CLEO Maybelline Designer of the Year 2004. Peter has been Ambassador for the Qantas Share the Spirit and a mentor for the Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards. A survivor both in business and in life has made him a sought after speaker and mentor. Peter has experienced illustrious highs and devastating lows including the diagnosis of a brain aneurism, of which he famously survived. With his optimistic approach he inspires his audiences with stories of his career experiences, challenges and personal growth.
